Currently Adjunct Faculty at University of Dallas' College of Business I'm a seasoned tutor specializing in both undergraduate and graduate classes (especially Executive/Evening MBA Programs) I work across almost all accounting, and finance classes. My sessions are divided between through explanations of key concepts, and ample practice of problems. As an accounting & finance professional, I strongly believe in practice - And, therefore, my sessions are geared towards making the student absorb the material to the point it becomes a motor response. Typically, my students improve two letter grades from tutoring, and in many cases, these improvements have career changing impacts. For example, a single letter grade improvement can lead to a prestigious investment banking internship/job etc. I prepare in advance for all my sessions, and therefore, request that all material be sent to me at least two days prior to our meeting. A lot of my students are hoping for internships/jobs in corporate banks, investment banks, public accounting practice, or corporate accounting. Based on my own background in above, and my recent MBA experience at UT; I also try to coach my students from a recruiting angle, and answer many questions student may have around career choices. I have seen significant increases in career motivation, once they are told about many different lucrative career paths in finance. This directly translates into higher letter grades. There is no shortage of tutors who are knowledgeable in their respective subjects. Also, many of my students are some of the brightest that I have come across. It appears that communication gaps lead to problems in comprehension. I try to nip that problem at the root. I'm a seasoned public speaker, and a regular member at Dallas Toastmasters. I fully understand the power of communication, and use that as a tool in my teaching sessions.
